For more than 30 years, the Russell family has proudly called Jeffersontown home. We raised our children here, enjoyed our well-maintained neighborhoods, and built lasting relationships in a community defined by safety, pride, and a strong sense of belonging.
As your City Council member, I’ve worked every day to protect what makes J-Town special—while guiding responsible growth that benefits all residents. And together, we’ve achieved meaningful progress.
This past year, we opened the J-Town Amphitheater—a vibrant new space where families gather for music, memories, and connection. It’s not just an entertainment venue; it’s a symbol of our commitment to quality of life.
We welcomed our Police Department into its new headquarters—a modern, purpose-built facility that supports our officers and strengthens public safety, reinforcing our goal of maintaining one of the best police departments in Kentucky.
We’ve also grown Jeffersontown’s Rainy Day Fund, ensuring we’re prepared for the future while keeping taxes fair and services reliable. That’s the kind of fiscal discipline I bring from my decades in risk management at Arthur J. Gallagher—where evaluating long-term impacts and making sound decisions is second nature.
And now, we’re on the cusp of a transformational opportunity: Norton Healthcare’s new Children’s Hospital coming to Jeffersontown. This project will bring world-class pediatric care to our families, create hundreds of jobs, and position our city as a regional leader in healthcare and innovation.
These accomplishments didn’t happen in isolation. They are the result of strategic planning, responsible leadership, and a commitment to listening to residents.
Through my service as Chair of the Economic Development Authority, involvement with the Plainview Residents Association, and leadership on the Envision Jeffersontown Committee, I’ve worked to ensure growth enhances—never erases—our small-town character.
I believe development should respect our neighborhoods.
I believe our police, public works, and city employees deserve the tools and support they need.
I believe Jeffersontown should remain a place where families can live, work, play—and thrive.
Looking ahead, my priorities are clear:
As our city grows, we must never lose sight of the quality of life, neighborhood integrity, and community spirit that make Jeffersontown a great place to call home.
We’ve made progress. But the work isn’t done.
On November 3, I ask for your vote to continue serving you on City Council.
Look for Mark Russell, Ballot Position #13.
Thank you for the honor of your trust—and your support.
Mark Russell

We must continue to have the best police department in the State. Looking for ways to support them in there daily endeavors both financially but also the best place to work.
Our Police Department is the best in the state, how do we continue this in the future.
I have been involved in the Jeffersontown Chamber for years. We have great small businesses in the area that we must work with in order to make J-Town Business friendly
